Input requested for Main Street Fort Dodge survey

Results will be utilized in shaping strategic plan

Main Street Fort Dodge, in conjunction with Main Street Iowa, is hoping that input from community members will provide valuable feedback from residents and business owners which will shape the strategic plan for Main Street programs.

According to Main Street Fort Dodge Executive Director Mary Green-Warnstadt, an online survey is now available at MainStreetFD.org/main-street-approach. The survey will be open until April 18. Everyone is encouraged to share their thoughts on how the Main Street district can be improved and revitalized.

“The survey will help us understand the needs and preferences of our community,” said Green-Warnstadt. ” By gathering feedback, we can identify areas for improvement and ensure that Main Street Fort Dodge is being responsive to local residents as well as property and business owners. Most importantly, the results of the survey will guide us in making informed decisions that enhance downtown Fort Dodge for everyone.”

Following the survey, a public session will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 21 at the City Council Chambers in the Municipal Building. The session will enable members of the community to hear the survey’s results and offer further input on the strategic plan.

“We believe that the best way to create a vibrant and thriving Main Street district is by involving the community in the planning process,” said Megan Moore, president of the Main Street Fort Dodge Board of Directors. “The public’s feedback is crucial in helping us define a strategic plan that reflects the community’s vision and priorities.”

Green-Warnstadt and Moore also remind residents that the Main Street district remains open for business even as the city completes a multi-phase storm sewer project with detours and road closures.

“Now, more than ever, we encourage the community to show their support by choosing to shop small and shop local,” said Moore.

Starting at $2.99/week.
