Two arrested after Webster City standoff
WEBSTER CITY — Two people were arrested Friday after a brief standoff with law enforcement officers in Webster City.
The incident happened at 303 Broadway St. after a Webster City police officer spotted a man who was known to be wanted walking into that residence.
Because of the possibility of guns in the residence Webster City police called for assistance from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
After a brief standoff, officers entered the house and found the wanted man hiding in the basement.
Police identified him as Ty Christian Pippin, 24, of Webster City. He was arrested on warrants from Hamilton County for contempt of court, according to Webster City police. He was also arrested on a warrant from Webster County, but police did not indicate what that warrant was for.
Bridjett J. Humlicek, 18, of Webster City, was also arrested and charged with interference with official acts and accessory after the fact.
