A special event Thursday evening will raise money for the construction of a recreation room/gym for Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa Inc.

The Team Up For Our Youth Fundraiser, conducted by Fort Dodge Study Club, will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Laramar Ballroom, 710 First Ave. N.

It will feature DJ bingo, food, drinks, and a silent auction.

Tickets cost $35 each or two for $60. They can be purchased at the door; at Hy-Vee, 115 S. 29th St.; or through Venmo.

Youth Shelter Care of North Central Iowa Inc. has been serving the Fort Dodge community since 1990. It provides emergency and temporary shelter for children up to age 18. Referrals come from the state Department of Health and Human Services, Juvenile Court Services and law enforcement agencies.

Youth Shelter Care is also a licensed community mental health provider, offering individual and family therapy, behavioral health intervention services and children’s mental health in-home therapy services both at the shelter and within the community.

Fort Dodge Study Club is a women’s organization with a mission of promoting philanthropic service, charitable giving and community spirit. It was established in 1935 by 11 women.
