Accused robber faces charges
A Fort Dodge man faces multiple criminal charges after reportedly assaulting another man and taking his phone, according to court records.
Fort Dodge police arrested Daquan L. Altman, 30, of 237 Westridge Road, and charged him with second degree robbery, third degree theft and fifth degree criminal mischief.
According to criminal complaints filed against Altman, the incident took place at 9 p.m. Oct. 10 in the 1600 block of Fifth Avenue South. In those complaints, police officers state that Altman assaulted the other man, stole his phone and broke a speaker belonging to him.
Altman made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Thursday morning. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 25. Magistrate Sarah J. Livingston issued a no contact order, directing Altman to stay away from the other man or risk arrest.
Livingston set Altman’s bond at $12,000 cash only.
