DR. ENFRED “MOLEY” E. LINDER

TWIN LAKES — Dr. Enfred “Moley” E. Linder, 92, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Pomeroy Care Center in Pomeroy. Memorial services will be at a later date in 2017. Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Foundation.

Enfred “Moley” E. Linder was born January 3, 1924 at Pomeroy, Iowa. Moley was raised and educated in Pomeroy, graduating from Pomeroy High School with the Class of 1941. Moley continued his education at Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. In 1943, he served in the United States Navy Air Corps during World War II, and was honorably discharged in 1946. Following his military service, Moley attended the University of Iowa, where he graduated from the College of Medicine in 1951. On June 12, 1948 he was united in marriage to Beth Olmsted in Illinois. The couple moved to Eldora and then Ogden, where Dr. Enfred Linder established his medical practice for 34 years until his retirement in 1988. The couple retired to their home at Twin Lakes and enjoyed wintering in Fresno, California. Beth passed away in 2004. Moley was a member of the American Legion, State Medical Society, past Ogden School Board Member, Chief of Staff Boone County Hospital, State of Iowa Athletic Physicians Award, and recipient of the 1976 “Dad of the Year” from the University of Iowa.

Moley is survived by his children, Jean Linder and her husband Paul Rempel of Fresno, California, Jo Linder and her husband Sam Solish of Portland, Maine, and David Linder and his wife Katherine “Kap” Linder of Twin Lakes; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Beth; parents, Enfred L. and Marie (Davidsen) Linder; and sisters, Eleanor Grubb, Jo Rohlfs, and Dorothy Reynolds.
