FRANCESCA ‘FRAN’ M. BLOOM

Francesca “Fran” M. Bloom, 85, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Villa Cottages.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Francesca is survived by her children, Rich (Chris) Bloom and Frank (Kim) Bloom, both of Fort Dodge and Merle (Sue) Bloom of Twin Lakes; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a stepsister, Anna of NJ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Antonette (Suoczo) Carlidge; husband, Richard Bloom, in 2018; son, Louis “Chip” Copenhaver; grandson, Christopher Copenhaver; and siblings, Mildred, Vincent, Josey, Rudolph, and Rosalee.

Francesca Maria Carlidge was born July 4, 1936, in Long Branch, NJ. She attended area schools and graduated from high school in Long Branch, NJ. She was united in marriage to Richard Bloom on October 9, 1966, and in 1974, the family moved to Fort Dodge. She retired from WalMart in 2016 after 22 years of being a cashier. She enjoyed doing her sister’s hair when they were younger. She played piano and loved to garden. She also loved bowling. Fran was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts but most of all loved her children and all of her grandchildren very much.
