WILBERT MESSERLY

Wilbert Messerly, 70, of Fort Dodge, died October 10, 2022, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

Memor-ial visitation will be held after 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Interment will be held in North Lawn Cemetery.

Wilbert Eugene Messerly, son of Eugene and Mary (Myers) Messerly, was born on April 17, 1952. He was a 1971 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High. On September 12, 1969, Wilbert was united in marriage to Nancy Joslin. Wilbert was employed with Winnebago, Iowa Beef and retired from Nestle Purina. He was a member of Rolling Hills Church. Wilbert enjoyed time spent with family, fishing, camping, and going to local races.

Survivors include his wife Nancy; his children Mindy (Joe) Lankford of Lehigh, Sarah Turnham of Fort Dodge; grandchildren Shaye and Blake Lankford, Alexa and Jasper Turnham; his sisters Amelia Schweertman, Mary Johnson and Cindy Timm; his sister-in-law Beverly Zahrobsky. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons William and Wilbert Jr., his son-in-law Richard Turnham, brothers Dick McCormick and Jim Messerly, in-laws Earl and Ruth Joslin, Herman Schweertman, Pearl McCormick, Lloyd Timm Sr., Elvin Johnson Sr., Betty Joslin, Earl Joslin Jr., and Judy (John) Zbiegien.
