MARY LOU NIMROD

Mary Lou Nimrod, 88, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Simpson Health Center. Her wish was to be cremated and the family will have a private service at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Mary Lou was born in Omaha, NE, on July 27, 1934, to Henry and Velma Postlewait.

She grew up in Omaha and graduated from Omaha Tech High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Derald Berneal Nimrod on August 27, 1955. Over the years she worked for Furniture World, The Fort Dodge Labs and Iowa Central Community College. Her hobbies included decorating, playing the piano and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mary Lou is survived by her children Dan & Julie McGough, Shelly (Mike) Rustvold, Vicki (Randy) Anderson and Richard (Jan) Nimrod; her grandchildren Megan (Tyler) Wiles, Kelsey McGough, Connor McGough, Ryan (Sarah) Rustvold, Haley (Blake) Meacham, Kylie Anderson (fiance Mahmoud Gshash) Parker Anderson and Katarina Nimrod; her great-grandchildren Haisley, Greta and Crosby Wiles and Baby Meacham in March of 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband Derald; her parents Henry and Velma Postlewait; her brother Jack Postlewait and her great-grandson Grant Michael McGough.

Memorials may be left to the Alzheimer’s Association or Unity Point Hospice — Fort Dodge.
