BETTY J. MCGHEE

Private family services will be December 10, 2022, in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Private burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery.

Betty is survived by her children George McGhee, Jr. of Fort Dodge, Ellen (Tom) Vit of Fort Dodge, and Sherry (Mike) Boggs of Rockport, TX; grandsons Dan (Bronwen) Boggs, Luke (Maggie) Boggs, and Cory (Tiffany) Williamson; great-grandchildren Michael and Emma Boggs, Gavin Boggs, Calvin, Lilly, Grace, and Amelia Williamson, 1 great-great grandchild Amelia and sister Nancy Heun of Napa, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband George McGhee; parents Ross and Emma (Johnson) Martin, siblings Ruth Dilges, Ray, Roy, Robert and Ralph Martin, sister and granddaughter Megan Boggs.

Betty Jane Martin was born November 26, 1930, in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. On February 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to George McGhee at Sacred Heart Church. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Betty was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Rosary Society and the Legion of Mary.
