DOROTHY DEMERY

Dorothy Underberg Demery passed away on Dec. 4, 2022 in Glendale, AZ. The oldest child of Lawerence and Martha (Sanders) Underberg of Fort Dodge, she was born Oct. 18, 1937 in McGregor, IA, while her father was part of the CCC. She attended Corpus Christi School and High School in Ft. Dodge before marrying Donald (John) Demery there on Sept. 3, 1955. They moved to Arizona a few years later but divorced in 1963. Their children include John, Bob, Jeffery, Matthew, and Rene. Subsequently Dorothy received her Bachelors Degree from ASU and taught math and science. She is survived by her long time companion Tim Shimkiew: sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Carol Hood, Lela Gergen, and Margery Hobart: brothers Robert, Thomas, Michael, Gerald, and James. Preceding her in death were her parents, daughter Rene, and siblings Lawrence, Jr. and Theodore.
