MARLENE OSBORNE

Marlene Osborne, 89, of Fort Dodge, died December 10, 2022, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation services were provided by Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Marlene Jean Knupp, daughter of Jim and Sylvia (Franklin) Knupp, was born June 8, 1933, in Vinton, Iowa. She was a 1951 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High and proud to be a Dodger. Marlene graduated from St. Luke’s Nursing College in Cedar Rapids in 1954. Marlene was proud to be a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She worked at Dr. Frank Larson’s office and later as a nursing instructor at ICCC. Marlene and her husband Gene moved to Texas, and she worked as a registered nurse in Conroe and Woodlands, TX. Marlene returned to Fort Dodge in 2014.

Marlene is survived by her children Jerry (Leanna) Osborne of Fort Dodge, and Susan (Garry) O’Dell of Olivet, MI; her grandchildren, Rebekah (Matt) Coburn, Isaac O’Dell, Kyle (Michelle) Osborne, Nick (Monica) Osborne, Kimberly (Jason) Mikkelsen, Matt (Drew) Osborne, Michelle (Ryan) Richards, David (Bridgett) Osborne, and Dakota Osborne; 33 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; her siblings, John (Loyce Rey) Knupp, Clyde (Diane) Knupp, Keith (JoAnn) Knupp. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Osborne, sons Larie Osborne, Gary Osborne and Tommy Osborne and her sister Janis (Knupp) Greehey.

Marlene loved her church and serving those in need. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Lord’s Cupboard at First United Methodist Church.
