NORM J. PLINER

Norm J. Pliner, 76, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery in Moorland. Visitation will be noon until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Norm is survived by his two children Scott (Lisa) Pliner of Otho, and Angie Pliner of Otho, two grandchildren Natalie and Brad Pliner, his sister Claudia Beran of Tampa FL, brother-in-law Jim Russell of Omaha NE, brother-in-law Dave (Diane) Marsh of Wheaton Il, sister-in-law Juanita (Bob) Cook of Corrales NM, and brother-in-law Dan (Lynne) Marsh of Naperville IL, and his nephews and nieces, Chris Russell, Dan Russell, Matthew Beran, Nathan Beran, Colleen Beran, Kim Marsh, Dan Marsh, Kevin Marsh, Andy Marsh, RaeAnn Cook, and Harry Cook.
He was preceded in death by his wife Pam, parents Raymond and Rachel Pliner, sister Rosemary Russell, brother-in-law Will Beran, and nephew Robby Cook.
Norman James Pliner was born on July 8, 1946, in Fort Dodge and grew up in Moorland. He graduated from St. Edmond Catholic School. After schooling he worked at Halls Automotive in Fort Dodge, and Hormel. In mid 70’s he started Pliner Repair which is a small engine repair shop. He retired in January of 2022. On July 15, 1972, Norm was united in marriage to the love of his life Pamela Marsh at Our Lady of Good Counsel church in Moorland.
Norm enjoyed gardening, hobby farming with antique farming equipment, repairing small engines, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
