JAMES R. HEPPERLE
James R. Hepperle, 88, of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday, February 26th, 2023, at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery with military rites provided by the US Army Honor Guard and VFW Post 1856. A visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home as well as an hour prior to the service at the church.
James is survived by his wife Betty Hepperle of Fort Dodge, children Barbara (Terry) Wingerson of Fort Dodge, Sherry (Bill) Weir of Algona, and Philip Hepperle of Falls Church, VA, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and sister Kay Yetmar of Clare.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Katherine (Marshall) Hepperle, infant son John, son Joseph Hepperle and siblings Maureen, Bonnie, Shirley, Robert and William.
James Richard Hepperle was born June 1, 1934, in Lake City. He moved to Fort Dodge with his family in 1942. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1953 and Iowa Lakes Community College in 1986. In 1956 he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. On October 4, 1958, he was united in marriage to Betty Radtke at Corpus Christi Church. In 1991, he retired from Hormel’s after working there for 40 years. In the summer of 1992, he began working part time in the maintenance department at the mall in Fort Dodge. James was a member of Corpus Christi Church and the Knights of Columbus.
