Heath Richard Almond, son of Richard and Mary (Lindsey) Almond, was born on August 28, 1974, in Pocahontas, Iowa. As a young child the family moved to Fort Dodge, and he graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1993. Heath met the love of his life, Maurica Nickless, at Jim’s Service Station and the couple married on April 21, 1995. He owned and operated H & M Shop which is located on their home property. Heath will forever be remembered by his wit and silly humor, many antics he learned from his uncles. He could fix everything from cars to heavy equipment and anything in between and was known to make fun of Prius drivers and Ford owners. Even though he wasn’t a farmer he loved Farmall tractors. He enjoyed his four-legged companions Axel, Diesel, and the crackhead dog Jaxon. Building his new shop together with his family was time together he greatly cherished.
Those who will forever cherish his memory are his wife Maurica, his children Chase (Brianna) Almond and Heather Almond (Ben Thoma); his grandbaby Almond due this coming May, his parents Richard and Mary Almond, his sister Angie Bennett (Duane Popp), his in-laws Nancy McGough, David (Betty) Nickless, Nancy (Maurice) Nickless and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his uncles Jim Almond, Richard Lindsey, John Lindsey, Norman Lindsey, Richard Cope, aunt Ruth Cope and brothers-in-law Ken Nickless and Lauren Nickless, niece Jessica Nickless and nephew Lonnie Nickless.
