Wayne Anderson

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Entombment will be at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in North Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home, Fort Dodge.

Wayne Charles Anderson, son of Gilbert and Viola (Weaver) Anderson, was born July 3, 1943, at home near Johnson Clay Works and Kalo, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife Kay, son Doyle (Jennifer) of Moorland, grandsons Colten (Emily) Anderson and Cody Anderson and granddaughter Madison Anderson, one brother Keith (Jeannie) Anderson, of Fort Dodge; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie and Gary Anderson; sisters, Carolyn Woodman and Phyllis Faith; and parents-in-law, Bob and Phyllis Beadle.

On July 18, 1964, he married Kay Beadle at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July. In 1964, he began working for Alvin Anderson at Anderson's Standard Station at the corner of 2nd Avenue and South 7th Street in Fort Dodge. In 1977, Wayne and Kay bought Anderson's Standard Station. They operated it until his retirement in 2000, when they sold it to their son, Doyle.
