Arleen Lindquist

Arleen Lindquist, age 71, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish, followed by the Burial at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 pm Monday, November 4, 2024, at Laufersweiler Funeral Home with a family Rosary preceding the visitation.

Born on December 31, 1952, in Fort Dodge to Dean and Alyce Quade, and raised on her parents' farm in Moorland, Iowa, Arleen graduated from Prairie Community High School, Gowrie, in 1971, and married Mike Lindquist on June 26, 1971, when he returned home from his military tour in Vietnam.

Known for her talent and an eye for beauty, Arleen was a gifted Home Interiors Decorator/Distributor for 30 years, hosting home shows and offering her talent of creating beautiful flower arrangements for special occasions held by friends and family. Arleen lived a life filled with creativity, kindness, and faith.

For over 35 years, Arleen shared her love of music as the pianist at Sacred Heart Church and most recently, Holy Trinity Parish, filling Sunday services, weddings, and funerals with her heartfelt playing. Her faith was her foundation, and through her music, she touched the lives of many, inspiring those around her with her devotion and joyful spirit. She found great joy in being part of her church family, where she formed cherished friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Arleen also enjoyed working part-time as a paraeducator for the Fort Dodge Community School District for 10 years, offering her services wherever she was needed. She made many friends throughout the district and enjoyed her time helping the children that needed her assistance.

Arleen was preceded in death by her father, Dean Quade, her mother Alyce (Bergstrom) Quade, grandparents Elmer and Mildred Quade, and Ted and Martha Bergstrom.

Her warmth, laughter, and generosity of spirit will be missed by her husband of 53 years, Mike Lindquist, mother-in-law, Jan Lindquist, daughter Michelle (Matt) Bemrich of Fort Dodge, Carmen (TJ) McCullough of Barnum, Grandchildren Carter Bemrich, Jackson Bemrich, Grant Bemrich, Sophia McCullough, Addison McCullough, and sister LeAnn (Denny) Lawler of Clare, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, Arleen requests your donations to be made to the Norma Schmoker Cancer Center or Holy Trinity Parish.
