Janice Pitstick
Janice Pitstick, age 81, of Fonda, Iowa passed away November 17, 2024 at her home south of Fonda. Funeral services will take place Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Fonda. Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements. Janice was born March 16, 1943, to Raymond and June (Roosa) Kendall in Clarion. At the age of 6, Janice moved to Fonda where she lived with her father and grandmother. She attended school at OLGC, graduating in 1961. Janice attended cosmetology school in Fort Dodge, Iowa and worked as a stylist in Lytton and at the Fonda nursing home before beginning her 24-year tenure at the bank in Fonda. On June 23, 1962, Janice was united in marriage to Dennis Pitstick at OLGC Church in Fonda. They lived north of Pomeroy for 13 years before moving to an acreage near the family farm south of Fonda in 1976. Janice’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted member of the St. Sebastian Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda where she taught CCD, served on the church board and was a member of the Holy Family Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Left to cherish the memory of Janice includes her beloved husband of 62 years, Dennis Pitstick; children: Scott (Carla) Pitstick of Jolley, Iowa; Richard (Lana) Pitstick of Fonda, Iowa; Randall Pitstick (Brandi Kliegl) of Jolley, Iowa; daughter-in-law Vicki (Russell) Pitstick of Marion, Iowa; grandchildren: Derek (Amanda) Pitstick of Fonda, Iowa; Taryn (Clinton) Butler of Storm Lake, Iowa; Sydney (Alex) Balvance of Marion, Iowa; Samuel Pitstick of Fonda, Iowa; Cecilia Pitstick of Marion, Iowa; William Pitstick of Newell, Iowa; great-grandchild: Rohan Pitstick of Fonda, Iowa; sisters-in-law: Patty (Richard) Hogan; Susan (Thomas) Comstock; extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father: Raymond Kendall; mother: June Isenberger; stepfather: Maynard Isenberger; son: Russell Pitstick; brother-in-law: Gary Pitstick; parents-in-law: Clifford and Dorothy Pitstick.
