Robert Pewsey
Robert Dean Pewsey, 89, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the State Center Specialty Care in State Center, Iowa. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 6:30 PM at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge. A private burial service will be held at North Lawn Cemetery.
Robert Dean Pewsey, the son of Elmer Pewsey Jr. and Virginia (Lake) Pewsey, was born June 27, 1935, in Storm Lake, Iowa. Bob graduated in 1952 from Truesdale High School. After he graduated, Bob enlisted into the United States Army where he served as a bookkeeper. On November 21, 1960, Bob was united in marriage to Geri Meyer in Lohrville, Iowa. After their marriage the couple made Fort Dodge their home. Bob farmed all his adult life. He also was involved in many other businesses. He owned a snow removal business for over 50 years, building a client base of well over 50 residential and commercial customers. Bob worked in the automotive department of J.C. Penney from 1964 until 1969. He sold MoorMan Feed and Kiefer Built Trailers. He was well respected in the sales community. Bob owned and operated Freedom Video and Tanning from 1998 until it closed in 2004.
Bob was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy (Brian) Herrin of Altoona, Iowa and Tammy Yates of Grimes, Iowa; two grandchildren, Elijah Yates and Hilary Hamilton. He is preceded in death parents, and his wife, Geri on Palm Sunday, April 1, 2012
