Margaret “Peggy” Mallinger

Margaret “Peggy” Mallinger, 96, formerly of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Peggy is survived by her children Jane (Kurt) Williamson of St. Paul, MN, Dan (Marina) Mallinger of Windemere, FL, Nancy (Jeff Engberg) Mallinger of Big Lake, MN, Mary (Kirk) Ankerstjerne of St. Paul, MN, grandchildren Lori (David Clement) Williamson, Kari (John Bowie) Williamson, Pakou (Nate Jonjevic) Her, Sara (Aaron Wanless) Williamson, Michael Williamson, Megan Mallinger, Wesley Mallinger, Caitlin Engberg, Logan Engberg, Jack Ankerstjerne, Anna Ankerstjerne, six great grandchildren, and sister Maureen Coffey of West Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Loretta (Hogan) Sullivan, husband Austin in 2020, and brother Robert Sullivan.

Margaret Sullivan was born April 3, 1928, in Fort Dodge. She was raised in Fort Dodge and attended Corpus Christi Academy. After graduation, she attended Clarke College in Dubuque. On January 31, 1948, Peggy was united in marriage to Austin Mallinger and the couple made Fort Dodge their home. The family spent their summers on Twin Lakes making countless memories. Peggy was a loving homemaker and also a devoted parishioner of Corpus Christi Church, later Holy Trinity Parish. She was an accomplished Bridge player, cherished her Irish heritage and was dedicated member of Catholic Daughters of America Court #216.
