Mariam Kramer

Private family services will be held at a later date. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Mariam was born May 23, 1939, in Kossuth County, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence J. and Margaret (Schaller) Thilges. Mariam attended first through eighth grade school at St. Joseph Catholic School in Bode, Iowa. She graduated from West Bend High School in 1957 and attended Tobin Business College and graduated in May 1958 in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

She married Robert J. Kramer on October 14, 1961, at St. Peters & Paul Catholic Church in West Bend, Iowa. To this marriage, one child was born, Lawrence D. “Larry” Kramer, on November 15, 1962. Robert and Mariam have three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Mariam worked as a waitress at Lakeshore Cafe, Harbor House and Ken-A-Bob's, all in Storm Lake, Iowa. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary's SOS thrift store. In her free time, she loved reading, completing crossword puzzles, playing cards, holding babies, and going to the casino. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Margaret Thilges; sister: Arlene (Donald) Sobolik; brothers: Ronald (Ruth) Thilges; and Duane Thilges.

Left to cherish Mariam’s memory include her husband, Robert Kramer of Storm Lake, Iowa; son, Lawrence “Larry” (Wendy) Kramer of Grinnell, Iowa; grandchildren: Ashley (Troy) Beeler; Lindsey (Travis) Eagle; Brian (Maggie) Kramer; great-grandchildren: Addy, Luke, Kendra, Jordan and Tyson Beeler; Joey, Tommy, and Mikey Eagle; Camden and Owen Kramer; and sister-in-law: Karen Thilges of Fort Dodge, Iowa.
