Sharon Faith Halsrud, the daughter of V. Carlisle and Lorraine (Dasen) Halsrud was born on March 10,1941, on the family farm near Bode, Iowa. She was raised in the Bode area and received her education in the Twin Rivers School System. In 1958, she married Dale Christensen and lived on a farm near Bradgate until 1965 when the couple divorced. She and their two children Richard and Dawn, moved to Humboldt and later to Fort Dodge, where she met Gene Maschino. Sharon and Gene were united in marriage on June 27, 1969, in Canton, South Dakota. Gene brought to their union a son Ed, and they were later blessed with a daughter Deann. They made their home in Fort Dodge, living in the same house they bought the year they were married. Memories made there were among Sharon’s most precious. The family gatherings were made more enjoyable over the years with the addition of each of their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sharon worked retail most of her adult life; at one time, owning and operating a gift shop, Create A Memory, in the Trolley Center. She was a lifelong member of Saint Olaf Lutheran Church and most Sundays, one could find her sitting in a pew on the left, first in Bode with her parents and then later in Fort Dodge with her own children and grandchildren. During the football season, Sharon could be found on the couch cheering on her favorite team, the Green Bay Packers.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
