Richard Mills III

Richard Laverne Mills, III, 57, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. He was born on February 13, 1967, in Kansas City, Kansas, and moved with his family to Fort Dodge in 1970. In 1989, Richard became a resident of Northwoods Living, later known as One Vision, where he lived with love and joy for many years.

He was employed at Iowa Central Industries and found purpose in his work. Richard was a dedicated athlete, competing in the Special Olympics and bringing enthusiasm to the tennis ball throw and wheelchair race.

Richard had a passion for music, especially Johnny Cash and Kenny Rogers, enjoyed watching “The Price is Right” with Bob Barker on TV, and loved going for a good drive. His kind spirit and zest for life will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.

Richard is survived by his siblings, Jennifer (Bryant) Taylor of Bolingbrook, IL, Brandy (Todd) Carver of Fort Dodge, Chris (Shannon) Mills of Fort Dodge, nieces and nephews, Brandon Mills, Bryson Taylor, Jaelynn Taylor, twins, Ashlynn and Madisyn Mills, Connor Carver, and Sydney Carver, Saylor Mills-Crimmins, and Violette Mills. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Jr. and Carol (Brown) Mills
