Craig Allan Goode, aged 52, passed into eternal life on January 28, 2025, after a fierce fight with cancer. He left this world peacefully and unafraid at his home in Fort Myers, Florida.
Born to Allan Louis and Sandra Jane (Halmrast, later Carmody) Goode in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Craig had an intelligence, drive, and creativity that charmed and captivated many. He grew into an outstanding student, athlete, and artist. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law and enjoyed a successful career in Chicago.
His true calling, however, came early in his recovery from alcohol addiction when he came to understand that success is not measured by what you do, but rather who you are. As a Peer Recovery Specialist, Craig became a light to guide others with this disease out of the dark, as so many had done for him.
Craig leaves behind his beloved children: Doran, Scarlet, and Grayson.
Left to treasure his memory are his love, Janey; mother, Sandra; sister, Stephanie; brother, Justin and their families.
He is preceded in death by his father, Judge Allan Goode.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date, when the family can gather together. Please direct all cards, condolences, and memorials to the family at their home.
