Marion Lynch

Marion H. (Becker) Lynch, 81, of Humboldt, passed away on Sunday morning, February 2, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Marion was born February 5, 1943 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the daughter of Julius and Dorothy (Youngwirth) Becker. She was raised on a farm outside of Livermore and graduated from Twin Rivers High School in 1961. Marion started her career working as a secretary for the Twin Rivers Schools. She was united in marriage to Paul D. Lynch on June 28, 1975 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livermore. The couple made their home in Humboldt. Marion then became employed with the Department of Human Services in Humboldt and retired after 41 years of service to the state of Iowa. Marion and Paul spent numerous winters in South Padre Island. Marion was very good at remembering people’s birthdays and anniversaries by sending them cards. She enjoyed collecting Coke memorabilia, Beanie Babies, following friends and family on social media, growing flowers, Elvis Presley, and especially an ice cold Diet Coke. But most of all time spent during car rides with the love of her life Paul.

She is survived by her husband of 49 ½ years, Paul of Humboldt, son Jason of Cosby, Missouri, daughter Melanie of West Des Moines, her sisters Marie (Richard) Balk of Algona and Marcia (Michael) Zittritsch of LeMars. Paul’s siblings Greg (Cherie) Lynch of Iowa City and Gary (Jean) Lynch of Gilmore City. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, their extended families, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and Paul's parents Paul B and Lola Lynch.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8th at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be held from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt, where there will be a Parish Rosary at 3:45 p.m. and a Parish Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Humboldt. In lieu of flowers memorials will be donated at the discretion of the family.
