Mike Bianchi

Michael Joseph Bianchi, 70, passed away peacefully at home on March 6, 2025, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Holy Trinity Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Born on March 23, 1954, Mike grew up in a home filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for hard work. He attended Holy Rosary before graduating from St. Edmond's, then went on to technical school, where he earned his HVAC degree. His career led him to work for several local companies before taking a leap of faith in 1990, when he co-founded Bianchi Heating and Cooling alongside his brother Dave, a business built on skill, dedication, and trust.

Mike was a man of many passions. Whether he was in the woods hunting, crafting something meaningful in his woodworking shop, or soaking in live music, he embraced life with enthusiasm. He had a deep love for high school and collegiate wrestling and rarely missed an opportunity to support the sport. Traveling was another of his great joys, and he was always up for an adventure.

He was known for his quick wit and generous heart — unless you ask his children (just kidding!). His sense of humor and unwavering loyalty left an impact on everyone who knew him.

Mike is survived by his wife, Barb Bianchi; his mother, Rita Bianchi; and his children: Cara Bianchi, Brett Bianchi, Jesse Bianchi, Nicci Leffel, Nathan Joslin, Cassandra Heinen (Cary), Mandy Cuddy, and Jonathan Van De Wal (Jennifer). He was a proud grandfather to 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Diane Bell (Bill), Dave Bianchi (Joyce), Mary Bianchi (Dan Wilson), Richard Bianchi (Laura), and his brother-in-law Mark Browning.

He was preceded in death by his father, Renardo “Pesho” Bianchi; wife, Nanci; and his sister, Suzanne Bianchi-Browning.

Mike's legacy will live on in the warmth of his family, the craftsmanship of his work, and the laughter he shared with those lucky enough to know him.

Memorials may be left to Unity Point Hospice.
