Anna Winters
Anna Winters, 65, of Pomeroy, died under hospice care in her home following a twelve-year battle with breast cancer. The visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Gunderson Funeral Home – Weishaar Chapel in Manson. The memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Anna Kristine Winters, daughter of Victory and Helen (Taylor) Troxel, was born August 29, 1959, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She enlisted in the Army after graduating high school and served in the pilot program for female combat medics. She was particularly proud of her sharp-shooter status. She worked in the mental health field and security after leaving the Army. Anna loved the outdoors. She completed a master gardening class and gardened with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed hiking, crafting and all sorts of animals, especially her cats. Anna was the kind of person to give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her daughters, Amber Armstrong, Amanda Knowles and Ashley Bachman; her grandchildren, Richard, Taylor, Seth, Austin, Ricky, Mckynzie; great- grandchildren Adely, Oaklee, Harper, Ella, Lainey and Ann Marie; and her siblings Sandy, Anita, Teresa, Vicky, Georgia, Marlene, Bonnie, Mike, Howard, Tom. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bob and Joseph.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
