Dr. Donald D. Cassady

Donald was born in Shenandoah, IA on June 11, 1935 to Willaus and Thelma (Jackson) Cassady. He attended and graduated from Clarinda High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Elaine Pollert on July 23, 1955, in San Antonio, TX. After serving in the Army, Don attended dental school at the University of Iowa. After college, they made their home in Fort Dodge where he established Dental Associates and practiced for over 40 years. He was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served on various committees. Don served on the boards of Trinity Regional Medical Center and Friendship Haven. He was a member of Sertoma, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and other charities in the area. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. He cherished the memories made with his family at their Lake Panorama home.

Donald is survived by his wife Elaine; his children Laura Horan of Sioux City, IA; Carol (Kirk) McNeil of Marion, IA; Doug (Jennifer) Cassady of Otsego, MN and Gail (Randy) Martin of Platte City, MO; his sisters Louise Sunderman of Villisca, IA and Mary Ann Melvin of Dana Point, CA; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Willaus and Thelma; his brother Lawrence Cassady and son-in-law Greg Horan.
