Home and Garden Show is this weekend

Event has moved to Iowa Central campus

The temperatures are sure to begin rising now and residents of the Fort Dodge area will be a lot more certain that spring has indeed arrived. And with spring, comes the notion of spring cleaning.

But how about giving your home, yard or garden a whole new look? Or perhaps you just need some tips and inspiration for tackling the dreaded “honey do” list of household chores.

Whatever a person’s needs or interests in home improvement and landscaping may be, they can find valuable information at this weekend’s Home & Garden Show sponsored by The Messenger.

The show hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

It is important to note that the show is being held at a new location this year. It is being held in the Career Education Building on the main Fort Dodge campus of Iowa Central Community College.

The price for admission is canned goods, hygiene items or cleaning products to be donated to The Lord’s Cupboard.

The first 50 people to arrive on both days will receive a door prize.

About 35 vendors, ranging from contractors to companies selling backyard grills, will be at the show.

There will be a children’s area where kids can plant some flower seeds to take home and watch them grow. There will also be a coloring contest.

The Groovy Smoothie food truck will be on site during show hours.

There will be a lot of things to see at the show. It will be well worth your time to visit it.

Starting at $2.99/week.
