Vote for a third party

To the editor:

I write today to address what has been the common thread of the fabric of many conversations I have had of late: that we have never had such poor choices for those running for the top position of our country, the presidency. On one hand we have a politician with allegations and accusations of criminal behavior. On the other hand we have a (down-right) bully running for president, who may put bullying ahead of being diplomatic when it is needed. Mercy sakes alive, I’ve never been more disappointed with the choices. And, when I’ve brought these two facts up in conversations, I always keep in mind that the next president has even more important roles such as choosing the next person to be up for the Supreme Court of our great land.

Therefore, today I am voicing what I have heard through these conversations that more and more are disillusioned. I resoundedly state this very real alternative this year: Vote third party. Let your voice be heard that you no longer want a two-party system to make your choice for you. Recently, even a physician informed me he too was voting third party. He and I still will cast our ballots differently, but will have our voices heard. The two candidates up for the third and fourth parties are through the Green Party and the Libertarian Party.

The Green Party has Jill Stein running for president with Gary Johnson running for the Libertarian Party. I’ve made my choice by reading their on-line information. Please, I beseech you to do the same. It is not a wasted vote, as I’ve had many imply I was doing by not voting for the main stream presidential candidates.

I’m voting my conscience, are you?
