To the editor:

I wish to share a piece of my story about the loss of my husband. I was a young widow who knew nothing about what needed to be done once the funeral was over. You see, when your spouse dies there are a myriad of things that must be done. I knew none of this.

After gathering what I thought I needed I took my papers into the Treasurer’s Office. The kindness and compassion I was shown in my dark hours was one of the most heartwarming of my life. Brenda Angstrom took my papers, sorted them, figured out what was missing and assisted me throughout the whole process. Her empathy for my situation engulfed me as she took me through the various stages of the filings and changes that were needed. I am not certain I could have made it through without Brenda.

As you prepare to vote for Treasurer, please consider the way I was treated and realize you, too, could be in my shoes. This compassion is part of who she is and you may need her to guide you one day. Vote for Brenda Angstrom for Webster County Treasurer. Thank you.
