To the editor:

The primary election for Webster County Sheriff is on June 4, and I am writing this letter of support for my friend, Deputy Trevir Michehl, whom I have known and worked with since 2007. I first met Trevir after I hired him as a police officer in Webster City. After graduating from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, I saw him grow into a well-rounded, fair, and professional police officer who consistently desired to improve his job skills as a law enforcement officer. I could not be more proud of hiring him as he was a great asset to the organization.

Deputy Michehl gained a great deal of patrol experience while he worked in my department. I saw his career grow into a well-rounded officer working with the Northwest Iowa Drug Task Force, a multi-state SWAT team, and obtaining Iowa Law Enforcement and instructor certification. Trevir has received budgeting, policy writing, and fleet management training and served as an evidence officer.

I am confident that Trevir will use his experience to develop a positive relationship with other law enforcement agencies, boards, city councils, various committees, and EMS personnel. When elected, Trevir will provide the citizens of Webster County with the outstanding service you expect, and I encourage you to support Michehl for sheriff.
