Ross now nation’s top ’26 prospect

Fort Dodge freshman also receives another D-I football offer

Fort Dodge freshman state champion Dreshaun Ross continues to attract headlines and gain exposure in both of his main sports during a busy offseason.

Ross was identified as the nation’s top-ranked high school wrestling prospect for the Class of 2026 by MatScouts on Wednesday morning. Hours later, Ross announced on social media that he had received his sixth Div. I football offer — this time coming from the University of Nebraska.

Ross won a 195-pound state title for the Dodgers in February, becoming the biggest freshman gold medalist in 3A Iowa tournament history with a 44-2 overall record.

Most recently, Ross captured a Cadet World Championships team spot for the United States with a U17 national Greco crown in Las Vegas. Ross also clinched a folkstyle national title this spring.

Ross is a consensus Top-10 competitor at 195 pounds nationally, regardless of age.

Ross has attracted quite a bit of attention on the college football recruiting trail, garnering offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Purdue, Missouri and Minnesota before the Cornhuskers entered the picture. He started as an outside linebacker for the Dodgers last fall, earning honorable mention all-district honors.

Starting at $2.99/week.
