Antonie Tshimanga in the 800 and both Hamza Mohamed and Jadon Boots in the 1,500 earned bids to nationals.
“While we may not have finished where we wanted to as teams, we have nothing to be disappointed about with our individual performances,” Iowa Central head coach Anne Cleary said. “We train all year with a goal to have our best performance during the championship season and that’s just what many of our team members did this weekend.
“We also had many athletes sacrifice their individual performance to do different or multiple events this weekend to score team points.”
The NJCAA Championships take place May 16-18 in Monroe, La.
