For the first time since the 2021 season, the Fort Dodge football team is in the AP rankings.

The Dodgers (5-1 overall, 2-0 in district) are tied for the ninth spot in Class 4A with Western Dubuque (4-2).

Fort Dodge will have a different feel to the week as they travel to LeMars (3-3, 1-1) for a Thursday kickoff.

Class 3A, District 2 opponents top-ranked Algona (6-0) and fifth-ranked Humboldt (5-1) will meet this week. They’re the only two unbeaten teams in their district.

In the IHSAA RPI rankings, Algona and Humboldt are the top two teams in Class 3A.

Emmetsburg (6-0) remains unbeaten and ranked third in Class 1A.

Defending state champion Bishop Garrigan (6-0) moves back to No. 1 in the eight-man poll.

With five victories on the season, Manson Northwest Webster (5-1) is sitting in the 14th spot in Class 1A.

Top-ranked teams in the state are Bettendorf (5A), Council Bluffs Lewis Central (4A), West Lyon (2A), Grundy Center (1A), West Hancock (A).
