Hall of Fame racing class inducted Saturday in WC

OTHO — The Iowa Hall of Fame and Racing Museum will be inducting its 2024 Hall of Fame class during the 6th annual ceremony on Saturday at the Briggs Woods Conference Center in Webster City.

This year’s inductees include Harald “Andy” Anderson of Duncombe; Jeff Broeg of Mt. Pleasant;Rick Brown of Kellogg;Dave Chase of Bellevue Neb.; Doug Haack of Clinton; Ron Hutcherson and Steve Jackson of Des Moines; Bill Kirk and Karla Lampe of Fair Grove Mo.; Lynn Richard of Mt. Pleasant; Hilbert Schram of Amarillo Tex.; Jerry Smith and Randy Smith of Mt. Ayr; and Dale Suhr of Waterloo.

These individuals represent drivers, owners, builders, car sponsors, promoters, motorcycle and drag racers, and are well known in the racing community.

The 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and the program. This event is open to the public; advance ticket purchases are required.

The Iowa Hall of Fame and Racing Museum will soon be moving to a new building, located at the Kossuth County Ag and Motorsports Museum in Algona. Interior work on the new facility is being completed.

The Otho location is currently closed, as the group is packing and preparing to move. The new location will allow both museums to give race fans access to an amazing collection of Iowa memorabilia and historical archives.

A grand opening for the Algona venue will be announced at a later date.
