Tritons go 1-1 in tourney
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Iowa Central men’s basketball squad went 1-1 in the Hall of Fame Classic over the weekend.
The Tritons (2-2 overall) lost to North Central Missouri 99-74 on Friday, but bounced back to beat Metropolitan, 92-77, on Saturday.
In Friday’s loss, Lane Campbell and Jordan Cain had 14 points each. Both had three triples. Aleix Sempere Serrano came off the bench to contribute 10 points.
The Tritons hit 11 threes in the contest. NC Missouri out rebounded Iowa Central 41-34.
Jalen Wynter had a huge night in the win over Metropolitan, going for 26 points on 7-for-12 shooting including 5 of 10 from behind the arc. He was perfect at the line on seven tries as well.
Cain added 10 points and Cooper Randall came off the bench for 11 points. Vice Grbic pulled down 12 rebounds.
Iowa Central hit eight three pointers and was 15-for-18 from the charity stripe. The Tritons out rebounded Metropolitan, 40-28.
Iowa Central is back in action on Wednesday when they host Central-Columbus. Tip is set for 7 p.m. inside Hodges Fieldhouse.
