Dodgers dominate Lincoln, Roosevelt
DES MOINES — The Fort Dodge wrestling team made quick work of Des Moines Lincoln and Des Moines Roosevelt here Thursday night.
With the Don Miller Invitational on the horizon, the Dodgers swept in dual action. They topped Lincoln, 76-6, and downed Roosevelt, 62-9.
Trace Rial, Damien Yeoman, Bo Marsh, Kadince Kisler, Amari McCaleb, Koy Davidson, Rylee Brown, Jayce Skow, Cael Adams, Kason Echavarria and Joe Constable each went 2-0 on the evening.
“For the kids that got a match in, they did what we needed to see from them,” FDSH head coach Bobby Thompson said. “They came out and took care of business, and that’s really all you can ask of them.”
The lone win for the Railsplitters came at 215 pounds, as Fort Dodge was open.
Kisler, Richardson, Brown, Adams, Echavarria and Constable all recorded falls, and Rial scored a major decision.
Hunter Kasperbauer and Hunter Richardson picked up wins versus Lincoln.
McCaleb and Constable had falls against Roosevelt. Rial and Marsh earned technical falls, and Davidson notched a major decision. McCaleb had the fastest fall of the night, needing just 55 seconds to secure the win.
Fernando Ortagin, Coy Nichols and Keaton Hawkins each picked up junior varsity wins for the Dodgers.
The Don Miller Invitational will feature Algona, Emmetsburg, Humboldt, Webster City, Ankeny Centennial, Sioux City Heelan, Decorah, Roosevelt, Forest City, Iowa City West, Lewis Central, Sioux Center and Sioux City East on Saturday.
