Fort Dodge bowlers in action
MARSHALLTOWN — The Fort Dodge bowling teams lost to Marshalltown on Tuesday.
The boys fell 2,743 to 2,558. The Dodger girls lost 2,367 to 1,733.
For the Dodger boys, Josh Jass led the way with a 384. He had games of 191 and 193. Slade Babb had a 380. He had the lone 200 for the Dodgers, rolling a 216 to go along with a 164.
Also competing for the Dodgers was Blake Seeman (351), Kody VanValkenburg (306), Leland Sassman (291) and Trice Jakeman (217).
“Josh and Slade had a nice two game series in singles, averaging 192 and 190,” said Fort Dodge co-head coach Julie Ulrich. “Blake’s 351 was a big improvement from our first meet and definitely more than what he’s capable of bowling.
“Overall as a team we just had too many mistakes again where our count on spares or doubles is costing us way too many pins.”
For the Dodger girls Calli Graves had the high series for the Dodgers, rolling a 141 and 132 for a 273. Sammantha Welter had a 126 and 133 for a 259.
Also rolling for the Dodgers was Felicity Strain (223), Kaitlyn Folsom (181) and Gabby Santana-Bass (170).
“It wasn’t our night,” said Fort Dodge co-head coach Nick Vinson. “We need to move forward and push to get better.
“It’s a gut check of what we want to be as a team.”
The Dodgers are back in action on Monday when they host Des Moines Hoover.
