Algona girls capture NCC crown

IOWA FALLS — The Algona girls wrestling team captured the North Central Conference title here on Saturday with 208 points.

Clear Lake was second, followed by Humboldt, Iowa Falls-Alden, Hampton-Dumont/CAL and Webster City.

The Bulldogs had championship performances from Mara Davis (100 pounds), Laura Stohr (115), Malyn Davis (120), Lillian Allie (125), Emmy Owen (140) and Regan Jensen (155). Reagan Haynes (170), Rylie Nicholson (140) and Sienna Fehr (135) were all finalists and runner-ups.

Brooklyn Robinson (235), Laina Dettmann (130), Gracey May (110) and Olyvia Satern (105) took second for the Wildcats.

Webster City’s Kali Hartnett finished first at 110 pounds with three falls. Lynx teammate Marlee Thompson took second.

Kaitlynn Vandemark and Liberty Gamble each placed fourth.
