Three games for FD girls

The Fort Dodge girls begin a three-game week on the road Monday against Algona.

From there, the Dodgers head to Des Moines East on Tuesday before finishing things out back home on Friday vs. Des Moines Hoover.

After winning four of seven to start the season, Fort Dodge has dropped three in a row to Mason City, Ames and Sioux City West. They wil also be without two players in sophomores Maddie Hoshaw and Addison Lentsch, who have both suffered season-ending injuries.

LJ Maehl is the team leader in scoring and rebounding, as the junior averages over 18 points and almost seven boards a night. Senior Meah McCaleb is second in points and rebounds.

Algona, leaders of the North Central Conference, are ranked 10th in Class 3A. They are led by senior Lauren McLaughlin along with sophomores Hayden Kuhlmann and Hayden McLaughlin.

All three are averaging 10 points per game, as the McLaughlin sisters are tops in rebounding at five and four a night.

The Dodgers earned a convincing 91-12 victory over Des Moines East earlier this season. The Scarlets, though, picked up a 34-32 win vs. Des Moines North last week.

Brooklyn Smith and Nyabuk Tuoch lead East in scoring and rebounding.

Des Moines Hoover has picked up victories over Des Moines East and North, as freshman Chere Ambers averages 24 points per game.

Starting at $2.99/week.
