Ashton Hermann scored 16, Termaine Fulton had 14 and Jayden Jones added 11 of the bench, as Iowa Lakes overcame a 16-for-30 performance from the charity stripe.

Daviyon Gaston for Iowa Central (11-8, 5-5) made it a two-point game with 26 seconds left after a traditional three-point play off an offensive rebound.

Jordan Cain scored a game-high 23 with Lane Campbell and Gaston both adding 11. Like the Lakers, the Tritons struggled at the free throw stripe, missing 11 attempts.

Iowa Lakes controlled the first half, taking a 36-25 advantage in the break thanks in large part of five made 3-pointers. Both Freeman and Fulton sank two, as they combined for 17 in the opening 20 minutes.

After going just 1 of 10 from deep in the first half, Iowa Central sank six triples to mount its comeback. Cain scored 14 in the final 20 minutes and Gaston had all 11 of his points with two 3-pointers.

Jalen Wynter, one of the top scorers in the conference, was held to just six points.

Iowa Lakes held a plus-16 advantage in total rebounds, but committed 25 turnovers, which led to 26 points for the Tritons, who held their last lead of the game with 15:39 to go in the first half.

Next action for Iowa Central will be Saturday when they head to Iowa Falls to face Ellsworth. The two teams met back in December, with the Panthers securing an 84-74 decision.
