Twin Lakes Conference champs crowned

GOWRIE — The South Central Calhoun wrestling team placed third behind Alta-Aurelia and GTRA here Saturday at the Twin Lakes Conference Tournament.

Emmetsburg was fifth, with Manson Northwest Webster sixth, Pocahontas Area seventh, Southeast Valley eighth, East Sac County ninth and West Bend-Mallard 10th.

Karson Wuebker and Jace Pedersen both placed first for the Titans, while Brayden Werneburg and Cooper Nattress were silver medalists. Kase Kraft, Coltley Timmerman, Collin Kenebeck, Hayden Stickrod and Maximus Hardy all placed fourth.

For the E-Hawks, Bradyen Yates, Justin Wirtz and Ryan Wirtz were all conference champs, while Nick Saxton and Gage Ditch each placed second.

The Cougars got second-place efforts from Kale Kraft and Mason Anderson. Keaton Wittrock, Owen Hanson, Eli Schoon, Taylen Secroy, Tristan Thompson, Hunter Newman, Gavin Burton, Tegan Thoma and Jaggar Wolfe all medaled.

The Indians earned a league title from William Lawson, with Jacob Lawson and John Ackerman each grabbing second. Brody Wallace and Coen Hammen were both third.

Wyatt Blair of Southeast Valley was a league champion. Fellow Jaguars Evan Kuhn, Keelan Wellman, Colin Johnson, Colton Haug, Kyle Eastman and Cooper Spece all earned medals.

Kenton Ackerman, Xander Hemer and Dawson Allen all placed for the Raiders, while Mason Knapp and Kadin Knapp did the same for the Wolverines.

Manson NW girls third at TLC

GOWRIE — The Manson Northwest Webster girls wrestling team secured a third-place finish at the Twin Lakes Conference Tournament here on Saturday.

Sioux Central won the league title with GTRA grabbed second. Emmetsburg was fourth, followed by South Central Calhoun, Pocahontas Area and East Sac County.

Adelynn Hudek and Lucy Kohnen were crowned TLC champions for the Cougars. Payton Peterson, Kayla Skramstad and Ellisa Anderson were each second while Maddie Crouse placed third.

Taylor Thayer, Shay Montag and Montana Wilson all finished first for the E-Hawks, Emery Kramer and Jesse Kalkwarf won titles for the Titans, Samantha Wolter was a champion for the Indians and Meke Kuipers led the Raiders with a runner-up showing.
