Dodger girls compete in state qualifier
NEWTON — The Fort Dodge girls bowling team competed in a state qualifying meet on Monday.
The Dodgers placed sixth, shooting a 1,991.
“We kept fighting back,” said Fort Dodge head coach Nick Vinson. “We had some good games, but were unable to put together more big games.”
Kaitlyn Folsom had the best individual performance for the Dodgers, shooting a 433. She had games of 139, 153 and 141.
Sammantha Welter was next in line with a 424. Also competing for the Dodgers was Calli Graves (419), Felicity Strain (408), Samantha Anderson (335) and Gabby Santana-Bas (313),
“The seniors worked hard,” Vinson said. “I thought we bowled the most complete game of the year.
“We just couldn’t put together any big games individual wise or in baker’s.”
