DES MOINES — Fort Dodge senior Trenton Beck secured second team all-Iowa Alliance Conference boys bowling honors here on Monday at the league meet.
The Dodgers placed ninth overall with a 2619. Beck was eighth out of 66 competitors with a 206-202-225–633 total.
“Trenton had a good day,” FDSH head coach Julie Ulrich said. “He is very smooth and consistently in the pocket, but he doesn’t always carry and score as well at Bowlerama (the location of Monday’s meet).
“I proud of him for making the top 10.”
Slade Babb (520) and Kody VanValkenburg (516) were next in line for the Dodgers.
“The boys had a decent day overall,” Ulrich said. “We averaged 175 over our five baker games. We threw enough strikes but our spare shooting is still lacking consistency.
“I’m hoping the boys are saving up to go big at the right time next Tuesday in Denison at the district competition. We’ll work on what we can in practice between now and then, and expect to bowl our best when it really counts.”
