FD girls win shuttle hurdle relay
MASON CITY — The Fort Dodge girls track and field team capped the indoor season here Thursday night at the Iowa Alliance Conference Championships.
Adyson Friesth, Charlotte DeJong, LJ Maehl and Maeleena Meyer won the shuttle hurdle relay for the Dodgers, who had six others place in the Top-7.
“It was a really good meet and the kids ran well,” FDSH head coach Todd Constable said. “It was nice to get another chance to compete, especially against many of the teams we’ll see over the course of the season.”
The distance medley relay of Aneliese Schurr, Ava Wessels, Charlotte Bresser and Brooklyn Nelson finished second while Ky’Mariana Mosley was third in the shot put.
Wessels (60) and Saiya Noborikawa (3,000) each finished fourth, Friesth was fifth in the 60 hurdles and Meyer placed sixth in the same event.
“We had a lot of young kids with some strong performances,” Constable said. “This gives us a good base to go off of as we prepare for the outdoor season.”
Fort Dodge runs again next Thursday in Boone.
