Gaels run at MSU Showcase
MANKATO, Minn. — The St. Edmond track and field program took a trip north for their final indoor experience of the season at the MSU Showcase.
Mariah Myers led the Gaels with another first place performance, as the University of Iowa softball signee captured the shot put with a throw of 39-7.5.
Anna Lursen followed by placing second in the 800 in 2:26.18 and fourth in the 400 in 59.86. Aaron Hindt scored bronze in the 200 with a time of 23.13 and was ninth in the 400 in 53.93.
“The girls that qualified and had the opportunity to compete did awesome,” SEHS girls head coach CJ Tracy said. “To finish with a first, a second, a fourth and PRs ine ach event is a testament to the hard work these girls are putting in.”
Josie Harvey was 13th in the 60 hurdles in a time of 10.22.
The Gael 4×200 of Faith Shirbroun, Sasha Hess, Harvey and Brianna Saathoff went 1:58.34 to place 16th overall. Anthony Valles was 17th in the 1,600 and Liam Shannon 17th in the 3,200 with Valles right behind in 18th.
“The guys had great performances,” SEHS boys head coach Donn Larson said. “We had several PRs.”
St. Edmond finished in a tie for ninth in the girls team standings, as Ames captured gold.
