Iowa Central rolls to victory at Indian Hills, 16-3
CENTERVILLE — The No. 19 Iowa Central baseball team opened their series with Indian Hills in a big way here Friday afternoon.
Behind a six-run first inning, the Tritons posted a 16-3 victory.
Cooper Nicholson, Jake Busson, Isaiah Scott and Sawyer Stein all went deep for Iowa Central (21-5 overall, 5-1 in ICCAC). Stein also had a double, finishing the day 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Busson and Chayton Fischer each drove in three, Nicholson had three hits and Colin Richie worked three walks with a run scored and an RBI.
Ryan Ohm improved to 5-0 on the year, pitching all seven innings with seven strikeouts, seven hits allowed and just one earned run.
The Tritons face Indian Hills in a doubleheader back here on Saturday beginning at noon.
