Tritons split at home in baseball

The Iowa Central baseball team split a doubleheader with Dakota County on Tuesday at Rogers Park.
The Tritons rebounded from a 12-1 loss in the opener by potsing a 12-2 victory in the nightcap.
Isaiah Scott drove in four runs in the win, with Cade Sears and Chayton Fischer both recording two hits. Luke Bohonek and Fischer drove in a pair.
Cooper Nicholson, Spencer Pederson and Jake Busson scored twice.
Chris McCormack (3-0) was sharp, working seven innings and striking out five.
Dakota County (4-8) pulled away in game one, turning a 1-0 deficit in the sixth into a 12-run frame for a mercy-rule victory. Iowa Central pitchers only allowed four hits, but walked seven and hit six batters.
The Tritons (12-4) are back in action on Monday and Tuesday at Rogers Park, facing Miles Community College at 1 and 3:30 p.m. both days.
