Algona girls win Hannover Relays
ALGONA — The host Algona girls captured their own Hannover Relays title here on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs finished wih 131 points, well ahead of Clear Lake (105).
Natalie Johnson took the 100-meter dash gold for Algona in 13.20. Macy Knapp (2:20.47) was the 800 winner.
Maya Lentz (4-10) was the high jump champ, and Reagan Haynes (118-5.5) prevailed in the discus.
The Bulldogs were also victorious in the 4×200-meter relay (1:49.29) behind Lillian Allie, Kaitlyn Burns, Maya Lentz and Johnson. The sprint medley relay quartet of Allie, Burns, Johnson and Knapp crossed first in 1:55.76.
Humboldt’s Aubry Fisher took the 3000 in 11:32.53. The Wildcats’ distance medley squad of Brooklyn Sernett, Landry Lash, Bella Metli and Brynn Malo won in 4:32.66.
Alyssa Richman of Manson Northwest Webster cruised to the 1500-meter run crown in 4:48.14.
Bishop Garrigan’s Madelyn Tigges captured the 200-meter dash in 27.90. The Golden Bears also took the 4×800 in 12:03.91 behind Julia Swift, Cora Deardruff, Bree Ludwig and Rosanne Curtis.
