Dodger girls run at Boone
BOONE — The Fort Dodge girls track team competed in their first outdoor meet of the season on Thursday.
The Dodgers ran at Boone, placing fourth.
“It was nice to get out and run our first outdoor meet,” said Fort Dodge head coach Todd Constable. “It’s nice to get out and see what kids work well together and work on our handoffs in competition.
“It’s a good evaluation and gives us some idea on what kids can do.”
Sophomore Maeleena Meyer was second in the 100-meter hurdles.
Sophomore Kymariana Mosley brought home bronze finishes in both the shot put and discus.
The shuttle hurdle relay team of freshman Adyson Friesth, Charlotte DeJong, junior LJ Maehl and Meyer was third.
The quartet of junior Aneliese Schuur, senior Ashlyn Wills, sophomore Hope Alstott and junior Ava Wessels were third.
Also in the 100 hurdles, Friesth was third and DeJong was fourth.
The sprint medley squad of Alstott, Wessels, Schuur and junior Teryn Rippentrop.
Freshman Charlotte Breeser was fourth in the high jump.
Fort Dodge brought home a first place finish in junior varsity action, as the sprint medley claimed gold.
Freshmen Mariana Taute, Malay Hollins, sophomore Olivia Daniel and junior Emma Estlund crossed the tape first.
Fort Dodge is back in action. Thursday when they travel to Eagle Grove.
